OpenClaw SMS without Twilio: text your OpenClaw agent

Install the aitextaroo package, verify your phone, and run aitextaroo-bridge --agent openclaw. Every text you send becomes an OpenClaw prompt and the reply comes back by SMS. Unlike OpenClaw's built-in SMS channel, you don't need a Twilio account, a public webhook or 10DLC registration.

Set up OpenClaw

    Install:

    Verify your phone. It asks for your number and the 6-digit code, then saves your API key:

Good to know

  • OpenClaw's own SMS channel needs your own Twilio account, a public HTTPS webhook and A2P 10DLC registration. The bridge only makes an outbound connection, so it works behind NAT, firewalls and VPNs.
