# Connect Meta Muse to SMS with AI Text-a-roo

> Have Meta Muse build an AI Text-a-roo connector from our API docs, or add our MCP server to Muse Code, so Muse can text you alerts and briefs on any phone.

Meta Muse builds custom connectors itself. Ask Muse to build an AI Text-a-roo connector from aitextaroo.com/llms.txt and give it your API key to store securely. Muse can then text you. In Muse Code, add the MCP server to your settings file instead.

## Set up Meta Muse

1. Get an API key: sign up at aitextaroo.com or run the CLI setup. It takes about two minutes.
2. Ask Muse to build the connector:

   ```
   Build a custom connector for AI Text-a-roo using https://aitextaroo.com/llms.txt and https://api.aitextaroo.com/openapi.json. Store my API key in your credentials store.
   ```
3. Test it: “Text me ‘hello from Muse’.”
4. Using Muse Code? Add the server under mcp_servers in ~/.config/muse/settings.json:

   ```
   "aitextaroo": {
     "transport": "streamable_http",
     "url": "https://api.aitextaroo.com/mcp",
     "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <your API key>" }
   }
   ```

## What works today

- Meta Muse texts you: Yes
- You text Meta Muse: Partly. Muse can text you a question and wait for your reply. It has no documented way to receive unprompted texts.
- Texts your contacts (Pro): Yes
- PIN approvals: Yes

## Things to ask Meta Muse

- “Text me if an email from my landlord or my kid's school comes in.”
- “Send me a text reminder an hour before each appointment.”

## Good to know

- Meta's help center says Muse can build custom connectors from API information and keeps credentials in its Secure Credentials Store. Meta doesn't review custom connectors.
- Muse's consumer app doesn't document a paste-a-URL MCP option. Muse Code supports MCP servers and reads skills from .agents/skills/<id>/SKILL.md.

## FAQ

### Does Meta Muse support MCP?

Muse Code, Meta's terminal agent, does: add AI Text-a-roo under mcp_servers in its settings file. The consumer Muse app uses custom connectors that Muse builds from API documentation, so point it at aitextaroo.com/llms.txt and our OpenAPI spec.
